Pete Doherty Back in Portuguese Drug Rehab Center
Pete Doherty, lead singer and front man for Babyshambles, is back
in drug rehab in an exclusive center in Portugal. Doherty was arrested
for drug possession in London on Saturday, November 25, 2006 after
he was spotted driving erratically.
| Doherty is currently
being treated for heroin addiction at the same clinic and has
the drug naltrexone implanted in his arm to help with the addiction.
Reportedly, Doherty will now have naltrexone implanted in his
stomach instead of his arm to aid in breaking the addiction.
A favorite with the tabloid newspapers in London, Pete Doherty
has made many headlines over the past 2 years for his behavior
springing from his addictions to heroin and crack
cocaine.

Besides being the creator of and front man for Babyshambles, Doherty
is also known for his stormy relationship with supermodel Kate Moss,
who has also struggled with drug addiction and treatment over the
past 2 years. In September 2005, Moss checked into a drug rehab
clinic in Phoenix, Arizona where Doherty joined her temporarily
before dropping out.
Moss broke up the relationship at that point when Doherty failed
to complete drug rehab. Currently, Kate Moss is the fiancé
of Doherty and has expressed her concerns publicly that Doherty
would start using heroin again since he was once again hanging out
with his old group of drug-using friends. This was also in light
of the fact that Doherty was arrested earlier in the month for possession
of crack cocaine while driving his Jaguar erratically.
